Why the word 'charis' for the groups? Because it means 'grace' in Greek, and it enables this aspect of Cathedral life to have an easily said and remembered name.

The purpose of the Charis Group programme is to know the grace of God: through learning from Scriptures, and other Christian resources, for growth in knowledge of the faith and of our Lord Jesus Christ; through the strengthening of belonging to the community of the Cathedral congregation; through prayer; through increased concern for the world; and through simply having fun!

These groups (of about 8 to 12 people) meet in homes on a weekly basis.

New Charis Groups will be formed as needed for any who cannot participate now, but will be able to do so in the months to come.
