Would you believe that it is five years since we asked you what health related topics you would be interested in hearing about and a number of which the Health Ministry has been able to provide. At our last meeting of our Health Ministry Team, the congregational members who set direction for the Health Ministry and who give support and guidance to the Parish Nursing team suggested that we put out another questionaire on congregational interest in health related topics..

This is the advance message to get you thinking which topics you would like us to provide over the next year.

Consider looking at wholeness from a Christian perspective, looking at wellness, prevention of ill health as well as an understanding of the healing of disease.Look at each one as it affects us not only through the physical body ,but through our minds and our spirit also.

"Get My People Going"

On a separate but related note we also have a good wellness programme (from the International Parish Nurse Ministries) for the individual. It is based on the "buddy " system to work on individual health related issues. It has a biblical theme on the Exodus from Egypt ,runs for 8 weeks.

We will be advertising this also in the New Year (when we all have those good resolutions!) to see if any of us is interested in participating. It again looks at the whole person and could be something we need to improve in our lives ,such as diet ,exercise ,prayer or even addictive behaviour such as smoking - More food for thought!
