Biography

A message from The Very Reverend Keith R. Joyce, Dean of Fredericton

Welcome to our web site! It is good to have you "visit" as we do want to tell you about Christ Church Cathedral here in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada.

The history of the Cathedral is important to our life together, but we also believe that the "living history" which we are experiencing in the life and ministry of the Cathedral today to be more significant. We seek to be a thriving congregation that reflects the character of our Lord Jesus Christ in the City of Fredericton. We want to reach out to those around us in continuity with our Lord''s purpose of coming to this world to reveal the love of God for all of humanity. Whether it is in word or in deed, we recognize we do it imperfectly, yet we hope to grow in faith and in practice.

The character of the Cathedral congregation is multi faceted. Young and old, women and men, children and infants, those at home and those able to participate actively, and a good mixture of those who come regularly and those who come more selectively -- all are welcome. We seek to be a congregation where people can come as they are, and perhaps need time and an environment for healing and spiritual refreshment, or who want more active involvement. We also welcome those with questions, or are uncertain about their beliefs, along with those who have developed strongly in the faith. Together we seek to grow in maturity in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Worship services on Sundays and during the week show a variety of styles of liturgy and music. Opportunities for involvement in other aspects of Cathedral life are also varied. To find out more, I invite you to explore our web site! We do welcome any thoughts or comments, as well as any questions you may have, either about the Cathedral or about the Christian faith.

So again, welcome in the name of God: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Most sincerely,

Keith +
